I would have to say the RBI Hawk line of scroll saws are the Cadillac of scroll saws, my friend. I have a 220VS myself, & have recently had similar issues. From experience, it sounds like you're blade tightening set up may need some adjusting, or, the cam inside the blade release is shot. First, take a look underneath your blade release.

WebAug 28, 2024 · The thing is HEAVY. I did a side by side vibration test, and both saws perform very well, but the Hawk VS control is a lot more consistent at very low speeds. They each have one critical RPM range at the lower end, but then both quiet down at the high end. The Hawk has a little bigger throat depth, but gives back a tiny bit of max cutting depth.
